It’s that time of year again – the time when you are left scrambling to find things for the kids to do during the summer. Don’t you worry! St. Thomas Public Library always has the summer solution! (It’s both fun and educational, but you don’t need to tell them that.) The kids can SPLASH into reading and celebrate summer by joining the TD Summer Reading Club 2011 at St. Thomas Public Library! The TD Summer Reading Club is St. Thomas Public Library’s most popular children’s program. It offers fun crafts and activities, encourages reading while away from school, gives children an opportunity to meet new people, and tons of fun and free stuff along the way!
Registration for the TD Summer Reading Club begins Monday, July 4 in the Children’s and Teens’ Department of the St. Thomas Public Library, Elgin Mall location. Registration is free and children of any age can join! Each child who registers will receive:
- A SPLASH! bag filled with free goodies
- An activity booklet
- Tickets for books read that can be used for weekly draws with prizes
- Access to crafts and activities every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. until noon beginning July 11.
Also, every registrant will receive something special! This year, the Western Fair Association has generously donated One Day V.I.P. passes to the Western Fair (September 9 to 18), valid for one gate admission, for every child who registers for the TD Summer Reading Club!
Registration continues throughout the summer. Be sure to visit the Children’s and Teens’ Department in the Elgin Mall to register your children, grandchildren, the little folks you babysit, nieces and nephews, whoever! If you would like more details about the craft and activities, visit the library’s website.
