June is nearing an end and it’s time to look for something for the kids to do during the summer. Something inexpensive (free’s even better,) something entertaining, something for a variety of ages, and something out of this ridiculous heat!
No worries, parents and caregivers! St. Thomas Public Library has the solution. The TD Summer Reading Club is almost here! Registration is free – as always – and begins on Tuesday, July 3, 2012. The theme this year is “Imagine.” St. Thomas Public Library has a plethora of drop-in craft and activity programs, Family Movie Mondays, Garden Storytimes, Lego Club, ‘Tween Scenes, a Teen Amazing Reading Race, magic shows, and puppet shows that are sure to stimulate the imagination, even on summer holiday. All for FREE! And in air conditioning! It’s a win-win-win!
- A free “Imagine” bag filled with goodies including stickers, temporary tattoos, and a poster
- An activity booklet with a place to record books read
- Access to all of those crafts, activities, movies, and programs
- A chance to win prizes
- Access to the TD Summer Reading Club website (It’s riddled with jokes, scavenger hunts and games, silly stories, book lists, and other imaginative time passers)
For a full list of daily activities, visit the St. Thomas Public Library website.
A full list of Family Movie Mondays (with movie info and trailers) can also be found on the library’s website. Please note that all Family Movies are rated PG and may not be suitable for very young children.
If you have any questions about the TD Summer Reading Club, or any of the activities offered in the Children’s and Teens’ Department during the summer, please do not hesitate the lovely ladies at the Children’s and Teens’ Information Desk at 519-631-6050 or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hope to see you and the kids this summer! (Did we mention the air conditioning?)
