Family Movie Mondays

Did you know that you can catch some great family movies for free at the library? Join us in the Carnegie Room every Monday afternoon in July and August at 2:00 pm. Bring some snacks or bring your change and buy some candy from us! It’s great for a rainy afternoon or as a break from the heat.

 

Monday, July 30- City of Ember

This science fiction-fantasy film is based on the novel of the same name by Jeanne DuPrau. The City of Ember is an underground city that is starting to crumble in the middle of a nuclear war. Young friends Lina and Doon must decipher a message from the city’s builders to avoid certain destruction.

Film rated PG for mild peril and some thematic elements.

Monday, August 13- Coraline

Based on the novel by Neil Gaiman, Coraline finds a way into another world that appears to be much better than her own reality. But is it really?

Film rated PG for thematic elements, scary images, some language and suggestive humour.

Monday, August 20- Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Sid is kidnapped by a mother Tyrannosaurus Rex and his friends encounter a hidden world of dinosaurs when they attempt to rescue him.

Monday, August 27- Harriet the Spy

Harriet is a spy who keeps secret files on everyone, including her best friends. But when her notebooks are exposed, Harriet’s life is turned upside down. Can she make things right again? Based on the novel by Louis Fitzhugh.
