The weather is already hot and heavy. Your books don’t have to be!
Looking for a light, breezy read for your summer holiday? Grab a Beach Read from our latest display! We’ve searched the shelves for you , so you can just grab, scan, and go! Your summer vacation starts NOW!
“Beach Reads” can also be called “Chick-lit” or “Fluff.” They’re books that aren’t too taxing and usually contain a female protagonist, a juicy love story, some type of crazy dilemma, and a happy ending. They’re just a “Feel good” story and during the summer, who doesn’t like that?! Some perfect examples are books written by Sophie Kinsella (Shopaholic series, “Remember Me?” and “Undomestic Goddess,”) Emily Griffin, Meg Cabot, and Jennifer Weiner, and books like “The Devil Wears Prada,” “Bridget Jones’s Diary,” and “The Nanny Diaries.”
As always, customer feedback bookmarks are included in each book. (Extras located at the main level circulation desk.) We want to hear what you thought about your Beach Read: did it leave you “Relaxing by the surf” or “Burned at the beach?” A draw box is located on the main level check-in desk for completed bookmarks. At the end of each month, the library draws one random feedback bookmark and the winner receives a library prize pack. Comments made on your beach read will be posted to the library’s Pinterst page.
