Reason #28: You Can Search Our Catalogue on Facebook!

St Thomas Public Library's catalogue is accessible through Facebook
If you haven’t already, be sure to “Like” us on Facebook! It’s easy-peasy!  There’s a button on the right hand menu of this screen. Click “Like,” and you’re done!

Did you know that you can access the library’s catalogue from our Facebook page??

 

It’s never been easier to search the catalogue, or place a hold on a book!

 

On our Facebook page, we have a new button called “Search the library catalogue”

 

When you click it, you are brought to the search screen, without having to leave Facebook! Here, you can log into your account or just do a basic search! For this example, I searched for “the fault in our stars”.

When you hit “Search”, you get a list of results, just as though you were using our regular catalogue! Once you log into your account, you are able to place a hold on any of the items! You can also like the book, or share it directly through your Facebook account!

It’s never been easier to use our online catalogue, and now you can access it right through Facebook, with the ability to give feedback on material, or share and recommend a good book with your friends! Give it a try today, and let us know how you like it!

    that is clever that people can use facebook to look thru your catalogue!

      Thank you, Phil! We have a wizard of a Systems and Services Librarian – Sarah Macintyre – who put that together. (The rest of the library staff was pretty blown away when we heard that we could do this.)
