For our example, we will do a basic search for “diabetes”. The search box is located centrally – just type in your keyword and hit search!

The first results you see are all “evidence-based”. This means that they are all scientific. If you are doing in-depth research, these results might be perfect! But if you are just looking for some general information, selecting the tab “Encyclopedias” might be a better option.

For our purposes, we will select the tab “Fact sheets and pamphlets”. This is where you will find the quickest and easiest information. Here are the results:

Right away you can see that titles are much more straight-forward. We will select the 5th item on the list.

Clicking the link brings us to a page where we can find some quick information about the article itself – Where is it from? What are the subjects? What is the summary? Once you have decided that this is the right article for you, just click on “PDF full-text”, and the article will open up! It has never been easier to find reliable, up-to-date health information!

As you can see, this is a very powerful database with tons of information! So the next time you have a question about health or medicine, be sure to check Consumer Health Complete first!
