Back by popular demand! After much success with the multi-level “Love That Latin” courses offered at St. Thomas Public Library, we’re offering the introduction course again to welcome more St. Thomas community members to the basics of Latin. Classes begin Friday, February 6 at 10:00 a.m. and take place every subsequent Friday until March 13, 2015.
This six-week course is FREE to St. Thomas Public Library customers. (Don’t have a St. Thomas Public Library card? No worries; they’re free, too!) Instructor Nancy Stormes lends us her talents and skills as a former Alma College Latin teacher. She does a fine job, too, with many former Love That Latin students raving about her classes.
What does “Love That Latin: I” cover? Have you ever wondered how the Romans got into those togas? Did someone really say “Veni, vidi, vici”? What does “mea culpa” mean? And what are “pecuniary” assets? Discover the answers and many more when you explore the language and culture of the Ancient Romans and their relevance in our daily lives. All material and supplies are included; all you need to bring is a thirst for knowledge!
Registration is required as space is limited.
